Pecan Bars

1¾ cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup brown sugar; firmly packed
¾ cups unsalted butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar; firmly packed
4 eggs
1 cup dark corn syrup
¼ cup unsalted butter or margarine; melted
⅛ teaspoon sea salt
1¼ cups Pecan Valley Pecan Pieces

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2. Combine flour and ⅓ cup brown sugar. Cut in ¾ cups butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press mixture evenly into a greased 13-inch-by-9-inch-by-2-inch pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 17 minutes.
4. Combine 1 cup brown sugar, eggs, corn syrup, melted butter, and salt beating well. Stir in pecans. Pour filling over prepared crust.
5. Continue baking for 35 to 40 minutes or until firm. Let cool, and cut into bars.

Yield: about 2½ dozen.
